A couple weeks ago, I enjoyed one of the best vacations of my life. We were celebrating my parents’ 80th birthdays. My parents were born 10 months apart, so we celebrated a bit late for my dad and a bit early for my mom. My extended family (parents, siblings, kids, niece and nephews) have taken some great trips to celebrate my parents 60th, 70th and 75th birthdays, as well as their 50th wedding anniversary.
This may have been the best trip so far. We spent a week at the luxurious Tryall Golf Club near Montego Bay, Jamaica. We purchased our “accommodations” through a charity auction website: Charitybuzz.com. My parents loved being surrounded by their three kids and all six grandchildren. We were all impressed with my parents’ ability to hike and keep up with us youngsters. The highlight of our trip was this hike to Mayfield Falls (pictured below). I look forward to celebrating many more of life’s great moments with this crew.
